Tomaj Javidtash is an author and metaphysicist currently pursuing his graduate studies in theoretical physics at the University of Maryland, College Park.

Since childhood he has been fascinated with the nature of Reality and space-time, a fascination that has led to more than two decades of intensive study in the fields of physics, mathematics, and philosophy.

Javidtash’s main area of research in physics is the Foundational Issues of Quantum Mechanics. His area of expertise in philosophy is the Transcendental Phenomenology of Edmund Husserl whose work has had a major transformative impact on his life and work.

This book unifies science, philosophy, and spirituality in (mostly) easy language. The author uses a number of helpful, logical analogies, no easy task considering how illogical the "reality" our universe actually is! If you are a seeker, mystified by the implications of quantum physics and working to reconcile spiritual traditions, this book provides a much needed simple framework supported by the convergence of cutting edge science, ancient teachings, and philosophy. The world will be a better place if this becomes a classic!

As a serious lover of philosophy, Advaita and quantum mechanics, i am always skeptical when choosing/buying books on the subject (s), due to a whole lot of pop/new age ridiculous ideas out there. A life changing experience for me

The author has done an excellent job of describing underlying assumptions of quantum mechanics without using mathematical equations. The way three different methods of inquiry are brought to the unity is simply beautiful. You do not need to be a theoretical physicist or a philosopher either to understand the book. I have found Tomaj's writing style very clear and logical. I am not the same person after reading this book.

This is a very comprehensive look at Exadata with many helpful commands, queries, graphs, and images. It starts out easy and becomes more advanced as you progress through the chapters. Most chapters stand by themselves - so you can learn different subjects at any pace, or even just leverage a query or two.

STEPS OF GRACE: A BRILLIANT WRITING OF INSIGHT AND HUMOR

Steps of Grace is one of the best records of an individual's discovery of the Catholic Church. Mr. Gonzales is a brilliant man, who writes with total honesty and wit. I particularly enjoyed and have re-read several times the chapter dealing with well-meaning but very suspicious and sometimes paranoid anti-Catholic writers; the pages dealing with the outrageously inaccurate tracks by one writer in particular was very humorous, and ultimately, very revealing about anti-Catholic writers and their distortion about Catholic beliefs and practices. I look forward to more writings of Doug Gonzales.

Incredible ongoing journey.

I enjoyed the author's candid and honest account of a journey that is not yet finished. His devotion to the quest of finding out what God wants for him leads him beyond what church officials dictate. The author displays a passion for life, faith, and a courage to seek a deeper understanding of the spiritual that is so often missing in today's society.

About the Author
Humphrey Carpenter was born in Oxford in 1946 and has spent most of his life in that city. He read English Language and Literature at Keble College, Oxford, and met Professor J.R.R. Tolkien on a number of occasions. For some years he worked for the BBC as a radio producer and broadcaster and won acclaim as a top biographer, including books on W.H.Auden, Evelyn Waugh, Robert Runcie and Spike Milligan. He died in 2005.

Absolutely brilliant! Very well written and extremely informative! A sad and amazing ending (appropiate, I thought.)
It was really awesome to learn so much about the amazing man who wrote such amazing books.
Carpenter has done an excellent job of writing Tolkien a biography AND sticking to his wishes of not judging an author's works by his biography.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who really wants to know the man behind the hobbit.

Great book, but BEWARE the KINDLE version

I'm speaking on the basis of the sample on my Kindle Paperwhite. Lines are set justified (straight right edge), but with maybe a 10% error rate. This is very distracting and annoying, since it upsets the paragraph divisions. It would be better had they left the text completely unjustified (ragged right edge), but for the price being asked anything less than perfect justification is poor value. A clean text free of typos is of course the more important thing, but I've come across one obvious typo already, so I don't know just what you DO get for your money.

A Must-Have Book

The much anticipated release of Leather, Life and The Pursuit of Happiness by Steve Lenius will undoubtedly be given the attention, praise, and kudos it deserves. For the past 15 years, Steve has written over 300 Leather Life articles for the Minneapolis, MN based publication Lavender. Leather, Life and The Pursuit of Happiness contains 112 Leather Life columns selected from fifteen years' worth of writings that originally appeared in Lavender and elsewhere that together, form a complete picture of the entire history of as well as contemporary aspects of the Leather SMBD Fetish Community. Included topics range from history, relationships, club life, political life, sashes, spiritual aspects, "Holiday" life, as well as many others. I would be hard pressed to find an facet of the lifestyle that is not covered within these pages and that, is no small feat!

Lavender has been fortunate indeed to have an author of such intelligence, integrity, and wit on its team as champion for the Leather Community. Over the years, Steve has become well known nationally and internationally as an expert in all facets of the Leather, Fetish, and BDMS lifestyle, and his spotless reputation is well deserved.

I find this book to be good for the collective Community as it is inclusive, draws us together, and urges us to work together for our common advancement in understanding, awareness, and acceptance. This in its truest form, is "consciousness raising through education" in its purest form.

It is my firm belief that this book, Life, Leather, and the Pursuit of Happiness, will become the forth cornerstone resource that establishes a firm foundation of the Leather Lifestyle genre. Lenius joins the likes of Guy Baldwin (Ties That Bind), and Joseph Bean (Leathersex and Leathersex Q&A) as a voice to be heard - as a voice speaking both to the Leather SMBD Fetish Community, and for that community to other communities.

A entertaining & informative must read

I attended the 2010 Twin Cities Pridefest recently. While I was there I met the author of this book Steve Lenius. I found him quite charming & well spoken, which encouraged me to take a further look at his book.
I decided to purchase a copy( and had it autographed as well). I promised Steve I would leave a review here, good or bad, so here is my review.
I would happily recommend this book. It was highly entertaining, I laughed outloud at more then a few spots. It was also quite informative. As someone quite new to the leather Scene I found many things I didn't know yet. I also found it very welcoming to those, like myself, who are still learning the ropes and not always fully sure if they are doing/saying the right things for the situation.
So for those new to the community, it's a great starter read. For those who are well acquainted with the community it's a good laugh and fond rememberances of good times. Whichever side of the community you're on, it's well worth the cost. Job well done, Steve - I look forward to your next book!
